We took Olivia to see Santa last night. We took her last year and thought it would be a fun tradition. Unfortunately we didn't have any church or work parties sporting a Santa, so we had to go to the mall and get ripped off. Adam told me to remember I was paying Santa's hourly wage and not just for three pictures, so that helped a little. . . just a little.
I hoped she would smile and tell him her name. But she very nearly
cried. Every time we could distract her from crying they snapped a
pic.
And dang it! I forgot to put her head band on. I was waiting until right before so she wouldn't pull it off and I waited a minute too long!
You don't have a church Christmas party with Santa?? What is wrong with your ward?!
ReplyDeleteI know right?!?!? We had breakfast and did a service project, and I even dressed Olivia up really cute just in case, but no Santa. :(
DeleteI never thought about that before! Paying for those low-quality, over-priced pictures would help pay Santa himself, wouldn't it? We took James to the Zoo Lights and saw Santa there, but I refused to pay $27 for two pictures when I could do a much better job myself. Our ward Christmas party is on Saturday, so if there is no Santa there, I might splurge and buy the other pictures anyway.
ReplyDeleteAnd he was such a sweet Santa. That beard is real, that's commitment to the job!!
DeleteSuch a cutie!
ReplyDeleteShe is so darling! I love her cute little style!
ReplyDeleteThanks! We met dad at the mall and of course Olivia wasn't wearing anything cute that day so I had to tell Adam what clothes to bring. Putting together an outfit over the phone was hard! (Mostly because I never know what's clean)
DeleteSo cute! I love her look of trepidation. That's a pretty good Santa! Real beard?
ReplyDeleteIt is! Its also the same Santa they had last year (must be a retired man who does this yearly) and so both years Olivia's pictures are with the same Santa. I guess that might be worth $30. . . :)
